At DutchChannels we are in the international market of Video on Demand (VOD). We create special interest platforms / channels and offer per channel communities an extensive array of movies, series, own produced material, and other content. A couple of examples are the platforms ‘WithLove’ and ‘New Faith Network’. But there’s also ‘Flixy’, an online video lessons platform for primary education, as well as ‘Voorstelling Gemist / Theater Thuis’, an online video platform for cabaret and theatre shows.
In order to arrange this content, a lot of negotiations, account management, and ongoing legal (contractual) discussions are involved with distributors and producers of movies and series. As DutchChannels is a rapidly growing company, we saw the need to create this new position of Contract Content Licensing Manager.

Contract Content Licensing Manager
As our Contract Content Licensing Manager you are our lead negotiator and account manager for our movies/series distributors and producers. You will be working within an international environment. Together with the content team–and based on the needs of our subscribers of the special interest channels–you will search within our extended international network for new series and movies that we’ll broadcast.
In your role as Contract Content Licensing Manager you are our lead negotiator to buy and/or sublicense movies and series. The depth of the deals we need to make can go far and become complex, especially when revenue share is involved. But in dealing with the distributors and producers of films you are not on your own. We have large range of experiences within our company to support and make you successful.
Next to the negotiation part you will also be the account manager to tighten the relationships with our content delivering parties. We want you to build a trustful relationship with our distributors, and also to earn a larger antenna in this market! We want you to learn what’s going on. What the trends are.
However, strong analytical skills are nearly a ‘must have’ for this position as you need to analyze the performance of the content (viewing time versus costs to begin with). This analyzed data will be a great negotiation tool for future contacts!
Your analytical mind also becomes handy with extending the movies/series database, and will define further KPIs that will support to rate the company’s performance.
In your daily operations you work close together with team members of finance, marketing and content.
We are becoming a substantial player in the international VOD market and we would like to make more ripples in these waters. Does this sound like something for you? Understanding of–and experience with–contract negotiations (minimum of 5 years). Preferably within the market of VOD, but not necessity if you can convince us otherwise. Being able to fulfill the account managing part and analytical skills. We won’t say strong Excel skills (as for this we do not use Excel), but now you get the meaning of it.
We’re looking for someone with a social, entrepreneurial, self-starting mentality without being a soloist as you need the team in order to become successful at our company.
A key position which you can model partly yourself. Enough experience within our company to fall back on for parts of the job where you need to gain experience (or where you can get inspiration to continue).
